PERSONAL
Joanne Stefani Germanotta atau lebih dikenal dengan Lady Gaga ini merupakan penyanyi dan penulis lagu dari Amerika. Ia lahir di New York, 20 Maret 1986.

KARIR
Gaga memulai debutnya dengan mengeluarkan album THE FAME pada 2008 lalu. Dengan mengusung genre musik elektronika, album ini mendapat respon positif dari kritikus musik dunia. Bahkan single Just Dance mendapatkan nominasi untuk Best Dance Recording di ajang Grammy Awards.

Single kedua yang dirilis dari album THE FAME, Poker Face pada 29 September 2008 dan berhasil menjadi nomor satu di enam negara.

Gaga berhasil masuk pada BBC Sound of 2009 sebagai Best Rising Stars Pada 5 Desember 2008,

Di 12 Januari 2009, ia mengumumkan akan mengadakan tur yang pertama kali, The Fame Ball Tour, yang disponsori oleh Dylan George Jeans. Dalam tur kali ini, Gaga akan mengelilingi Amerika dan Kanada.

Ketika membuat musiknya, Gaga juga akan memikirkan fashion yang akan dikenakan pula. Menurutnya, fashion termasuk penampilan panggungnya yang juga penting.

Sebagai penulis lagu, Lady Gaga juga pernah membuatkan lagu untuk Britney Spears, New Kids On The Block, Pussycat Dolls dan juga Fergie.

Sensasi Lady Gaga tak berhenti di situ saja. Youtube melansir bahwa video klip terbaru Lady Gaga yang berjudul Bad Romance mendapat perhatian paling banyak dari para pengguna internet. Pada video klip ini, Lady Gaga juga menampilkan konsep yang tak biasa. Dikisahkan Gaga diculik oleh para supermodel sebelum dijual kepada para mafia Rusia dalam sebuah pelelangan.

Sebelumnya, pada sampul Rolling Stone 100 Isu Terpanas, artis yang selalu nyentrik dalam penampilan panggungnya ini tampil semi telanjang dengan hanya menutupi tubuhnya dengan bola-bola plastik.

Kebiasaan tak lazim Gaga yang lain yaitu menyebut para fansnya sebagai 'moster kecil'. Ini sesuai dengan tema album keduanya , THE FAME MONSTER. Gaga diketahui juga memiliki tato bergambar monster kecil yang diperuntukkan bagi para penggemarnya.

Ajang MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS 2010 tentunya menjadi ajang di mana GaGa membuktikan eksistensinya di bidang musik. Polda: Pelarangan Konser GaGa Demi Budaya Bangsa Indonesia

Kepolisian Polda Metro Jaya mengultimatum promotor pelaksana konser penyanyi internasional Lady GaGa untuk tidak melaksanakan pertunjukannya. Jika tetap menggelar konser, pihak Kepolisian akan membubarkan acara itu.
"Jika tetap dilakukan itu artinya mereka tidak taat hukum sebagai warga negara. Saya tidak melarang, hanya Polda tidak merekomendasikan pelaksanaan konser tersebut," ujar Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Untung Radjab saat ditemui wartawan di Polda Metro Jaya, Rabu (16/5).
Jendral bintang dua itu pun mengungkapkan alasan kenapa pihak kepolisian tidak memberikan rekomendasi. Katanya, selain memicu potensi keamanan, budaya bangsa Indonesia harus dilindungi.
"Bukan hanya faktor keamanan saja, tapi lebih luas yakni melindungi budaya bangsa Indonesia yang masih menjunjung tinggi budaya ketimuran," ujar Untung. (kpl/adt/faj)

Rencana kedatangan Lady GaGa untuk menggelar konser di Indonesia mendapat respon keras dari Front Pembela Islam atau FPI. Mereka menilai penyanyi tersebut membawa aliran setan, serta busana dan aksi panggung yang kerap ditampilkan Lady GaGa dinilai terlalu seksi. Namun demikian banyak pihak yang berpendapat bahwa Lady GaGa sebenarnya hanya pekerja seni, dan tidak lebih seksi dari hiburan masyarakat yang telah mengakar di Indonesia, seperti dangdut koplo. Dangdut modern yang dimainkan satu grup musik atau orkes Melayu (OM), dengan biduanita yang kadang memiliki goyangan yang sensual.
Hal ini lantas menimbulkan pertanyaan, seperti apakah aksi panggung dari Lady GaGa, dan seberapa jauh aksi panggung dari penyanyi dangdut koplo?
1. Aksi Panggung

Aksi panggung berupa penampilan live baik dengan koreografi, goyangan atau atraksi lain di atas panggung. Lady GaGa biasa mempersiapkan konsep yang bakal ia hadirkan di atas panggung, tampil atraktif di hadapan ribuan penonton dengan koreografi yang sudah tertata. Sementara biduan dangdut koplo rata-rata memiliki kemampuan bergoyang yang menjadi ciri khas mereka. Proses improvisasi di atas panggung adalah faktor penunjang kesuksesan show mereka. Biduan juga punya pilihan untuk tampil seksi atau sekedar bergoyang biasa.


2. Kostum

Standar norma yang berbeda antara Indonesia dan Amerika memang menghadirkan gap tersendiri. Lady GaGa yang kerap tampil live dengan baju terbuka bermodel bikini masih bisa diterima oleh masyarakat Amerika, namun dipermasalahkan di Indonesia. Untuk standar kostum, meski biduan dangdut koplo yang seksi kerap tampil dengan goyangan hot dan kostum mini, kostum mereka masih bisa diterima masyarakat Indonesia.

3. Interaksi Dengan Penonton: Tradisi Saweran


Terdapat perbedaan mendasar mengenai interaksi antara sang bintang dengan penonton. Dalam konser Lady GaGa, interaksi terjalin lewat komunikasi verbal, dan jarang ada penonton yang berada di atas panggung kala sang musisi tengah menggeber aksinya. Sementara itu, penonton dan biduan dangdut koplo jauh lebih intim. Apalagi bila ada tradisi saweran, penonton seolah berlomba-lomba berdiri di atas panggung bersama sang biduan, menaburkan uang dan kadang menyelipkannya ke bagian tubuh sang penyanyi, dan biduan dangdut koplo biasanya bergoyang semakin panas kala uang mengalir.

Jika kita lihat dari beberapa sisi tersebut, apakah wajar jika konser Lady GaGa diprotes dengan alasan seksi, sementara ada tontonan yang jauh lebih seronok mengakar di masyarakat? Atau jika memang sepatutnya Lady GaGa tidak diperkenankan untuk konser di Indonesia, lalu apakah ada aksi dari ormas Islam tersebut untuk menanggulangi konser dangdut koplo? Setelah penolakan habis-habisan dari para pemuka agama, kini giliran Polda Metro Jay yang justru menyarankan bahwa konser Lady GaGa tidak digelar di Indonesia. Namun demikian, memang belum ada kepastian apakah konser yang akan digelar 3 Juni mendatang ini akan dibatalkan atau tidak. Penolakan masyarakat memang bukan tanpa alasan. Banyak persepsi buruk yang memang berkembang di masyarakat soal penyanyi 26 tahun tersebut. Parahnya, persepsi yang sudah mengakar kuat ternyata tak didukung oleh bukti yang kuat. Apa saja persepsi itu?

1. Lady GaGa Waria
Gosip yang mengatakan bahwa wanita yang terlahir dengan nama Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta ini adalah waria telah berkembang sejak awal karirnya. Hal itu mungkin diperparah dengan munculnya alter ego Lady GaGa yang bernama Jo Calderone.

Namun demikian, munculnya alter ego jelas bukan pembuktian dalam hal ini, karena Jo Calderone sendiri hanya muncul untuk kepentingan syuting video klip dan pemotretan. Selain itu hingga kini tak ada bukti yang bisa membuktikan bahwa pelantun Born This Way ini adalah seorang lelaki.

2. Lady GaGa Pemuja Setan
Anggapan inilah yang kemungkinan besar membuat orang berpikir seribu kali untuk menerima Lady GaGa. Dia dan sejumlah artis lain seperti Beyonce Knowles, Jay Z dan Rihanna disinyalir sebagai pengikut aliran illuminati yang sedang merencanakan untuk menguasai dunia.
Kostum nyentrik GaGa pada akhirnya juga menjadi salah satu penguat bukti tersebut. Ditambah lagi, seorang petugas hotel pernah bersaksi bahwa dia menemukan banyak ceceran darah di kamar yang pernah disewa Lady GaGa.
Namun satu hal yang perlu dicatat, bukti yang kuat belum ditemukan tentang itu. Kostum unik belum tentu mengandung unsur setan, sedang soal ceceran darah, banyak yang beranggapan bahwa itu hanyalah ceceran cat yang sebelumnya digunakan GaGa dalam penampilannya.
Soal video-video yang dianggap memiliki unsur illuminati ternyata tidak disutradarai oleh GaGa, sedangkan video yang disutradarai GaGa ternyata malah tak mengandung unsur setan.
3. Lady GaGa Pemuja Wanita
Tak hanya pemuja setan, GaGa ternyata juga dianggap sebagai orang yang menganggap wanita sebagai Tuhan. Padahal faktanya, penganut Katolik yang sempat bersekolah di Convent of the Sacred Heart ini selalu menyebut nama Tuhannya, Yesus Kristus saat menggelar konser Monster Ball tahun lalu.
4. Lady GaGa Ikon Gay
Karena getol melakukan kampanye persamaan hak kaum lesbian, gay, transgender dan biseksual, dia pun mendapat tempat tersendiri di antara kaum tersebut. Hal itu juga diperkuat dengan pengakuan seorang remaja Inggris yang telah menjadi transgender atas dorongan Lady GaGa.
Sejatinya, GaGa hanya berusaha untuk menghargai hak sesama manusia, seperti yang diajarkan di semua agama. Sayangnya usaha Lady GaGa tersebut malah mendapat tudingan miring dari masyarakat. Dia malah dianggap sebagai icon gay!
5. Baju Daging Lady GaGa
Selain diprotes PETA, baju daging yang dikenakan GaGa beberapa tahun silam ternyata masih menyisakan kontroversi hingga kini. Banyak orang yang beranggapan bahwa baju tersebut sangat menjijikkan, bau, dan tentunya dipenuhi belatung.

Faktanya, hal itu salah besar! Baju daging yang rencananya juga akan dikenakan lagi dalam rangkaian tur Born This Way Ball tersebut ternyata terbuat dari 100% daging asli yang telah melalui proses pengawetan panjang. Tak hanya bebas belatung, baju itu juga berbau wangi. Tentunya takkan ada bintang yang mau mengenakan baju penuh belatung dan bau, kan?
6. Lady GaGa Selalu Tampil Seksi
Selalu tampil seksi, itulah yang mungkin dipikirkan orang tentang Lady GaGa. Faktanya hal itu tak sepenuhnya benar. GaGa juga kerap tampil di depan umum dengan gaya yang sangat sopan.

Saat tidak berada di atas panggung, GaGa juga kerap muncul dengan busana normal yang menutupi tubuhnya. Selain itu, dia pernah tampil dalam balutan yang 100% tertutup untuk penampilan di tur Born This Way Ball tahun ini.

7. Lady GaGa Lakukan Operasi Plastik
Beberapa orang sempat menyebut GaGa sempat melakukan operasi plastik di bagian wajah, serta memasang tanduk di wajahnya. Faktanya hal itu sama sekali salah. GaGa selalu mengajarkan fans untuk mencintai tubuh apa adanya.

Entah dari mana asal persepsi yang menyatakan GaGa tidak bermoral. Satu hal yang pasti, dia adalah sosok yang sangat dikagumi karena perjuangannya melawan bullying.

9. Lagu Yang Menyesatkan
Lagu-lagu seperti Born This Way, Judas dan Alejandro seringkali menjadi sasaran empuk banyak pihak yang memutar balikkan arti di baliknya. Lagu Alejandro misalnya, banyak orang menganggap lagu tersebut sebagai berikut, Alejandro adalah Allah, Fernando adalah yesus, Roberto adalah roh suci.
Faktanya, Alejandro adalah Alexander McQueen (alm), Fernando adalah Fernando Garibay dan Roberto adalah Rob (Roberto) Fusari. Semuanya adalah teman-teman GaGa. Alexander yang dalam bahasa Spanyol berarti Alejandro. Hal itu dijabarkan oleh salah satu Little Monster yang menulis di laman Lady GaGa Indonesia.

Bagaimana Media Asing Menulis Kontroversi Lady GaGa di Indonesia?

Konser Lady GaGa yang sedianya dilangsungkan pada tanggal 3 Juni 2012 di Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno (SUGBK) mendatang terancam gagal untuk digelar dikarenakan izin yang tak kunjung datang dari Kepolisian, serta protes dari ormas Front Pembela Islam atau FPI. Kontroversi konser Lady GaGa ini tak hanya menyedot perhatian media Indonesia, namun juga media luar pun telah menulis tentang polemik yang terjadi. Lalu bagaimana media Internasional membahas tentang konser Lady GaGa di Indonesia ini?

1. Time
Kantor berita Time menulis tentang kemungkinan polisi Indonesia membatalkan konser ini dengan alasannya protes yang dilakukan organisasi Islam konservatif (FPI), yang menganggap konser ini bisa merusak moral generasi muda. Time fokus kepada aksi yang bakal dilakukan oleh FPI untuk menghentikan Lady GaGa, serta satu pernyataan yang dikemukakan ulama NU yang meminta kesadaran Lady GaGa untuk membatalkan sendiri konsernya.
2. MTV
MTV menulis bahwa konser Lady GaGa dengan 52,000 seat yang sudah sold out, terpaksa harus dicancel setelah protes yang dilakukan organisasi Islam garis keras. Mereka menyebut tentang kostum seksi Lady GaGa yang dipermasalahkan FPI.
3. Rolling Stone
Rolling Stone menulis tentang izin dari konser ini yang ditunda untuk diberikan. Selain membahas juga protes dari organisasi Islam, mereka juga menyebut konser GaGa di Korea Selatan pada bulan April silam sempat mengalami masalah yang sama karena diprotes umat Kristen yang menuntut konser tersebut hanya khusus orang dewasa.
4. Daily Mail
Lewat situs mereka dailymail.co.uk, media ini menulis bahwa konser Lady GaGa yang sudah sold out dan bakal menjadi show terbesar di Asia, tidak diizinkan untuk digelar karena adanya protes dari FPI. Mereka juga menulis satu grup ekstrimis semakin aktif beberapa tahun terakhir di Indonesia.

Media ini menulis bahwa Lady GaGa terlalu seksi untuk Indonesia. Mereka lantas membahas bahwa izin konser ini masih ditunda karena dikhawatirkan bahwa konser ini bakal merusak moral generasi muda.

Meskipun belum membeli tiket konser Lady GaGa, vokalis Geisha, Momo siap menyaksikan performance penyanyi dunia tersebut. Bagi Momo, menyaksikan penampilannya dari penyanyi kelas dunia bisa menjadikan inspirasi bagi dirinya. "Udah pasti batal di Indo? Kebetulan aku belum beli tiketnya. Aku sih emang niat pengen nonton. Sebagai pemilik tiket konser Lady GaGa, Tyas Mirasih berharap konser tersebut tidak jadi batal. Menurutnya, tak semua hal yang berbau Lady GaGa adalah hal yang negatif, karena Lady GaGa adalah sosok yang penuh talenta dalam setiap karyanya. “Gue udah beli tiket, jangan batal semoga. Kita kan nonton menghargai karyanya, seninya, bukan ikut-ikutan mau berpenampilan vulgar. Pengen liat aksi panggungnya dan crowd penontonnya gimana. Keinginan untuk menonton konser Lady GaGa memang telah menjangkiti para Little Monster, atau fans pelantun tembang Poker Face tersebut, tak terkecuali dengan Tyas Mirasih. Awalnya Tyas mengaku ingin menonton konser Lady GaGa di Singapura.
